Mescalero, NM – With 16 inches of
natural snow over the past few days, Ski Apache is set to begin the 2004-2005
season in great condition, with operations opening on Thanksgiving Day.
“We’ve received between 12 and 16 inches
of natural snow from our first major storm of the season this past weekend,â€
said Dan Conners, director of Ski Apache. “We’ve
also made an additional two to three feet of snow, giving us an excellent base
at our lower trails.†Ski Apache has invested in additional snow making equipment
this year.
The Ski Apache mountain resort, located
near Ruidoso, N.M., will
have chair
lifts three, four, and five running on opening day as well as chair lift two to
midway. Also available on opening day will be Ski Apache’s new terrain park,
the Boneyard, which offers jumps, rails and boxes for skiers and snowboarders
looking for an additional challenge.
Those interested in current conditions
at Ski Apache can visit www.skiapache.com
for the snow report. The snow report is listed under “Weather/Web Cams†and is
updated daily throughout the ski season.
The Ski Apache mountain resort is owned
and operated by the Mescalero Apache Tribe. The 4,000 member Mescalero Apache
